spanish blog #6

1. Mexico gained independence from Spain in 1821.
2. Napoleon the 3rd wanted to install Archduke Maximillion of Austria as ruler of Mexico.
3. the french invaded at the Gulf of Mexico alongside the state of veracruz.
4. Abraham Lincoln was prsident of the US at the time.
5. General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguin was leader of the Mexican Militia.
6. After the defeat in Puebla, Napoleon sent more troops and overtook the Mexican militia. Maximillion was installed as ruler, but a rebellion happened and the french were overtaken. Maximillion was executed, his bullet ridden shirt is on display at a museum in Mexico City.
7. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated mostly in Puebla, it is celebrated by music, food, beverage, and Mexican customs.
